Andrea Cofrin was named Columbia’s head women’s lacrosse coach on Thursday, September 3, 2015 by Peter Pilling.

In just three seasons, Cofrin has elevated the Columbia lacrosse program to new heights. The Lions (6-10) 2018 campaign was highlighted by earning its first ever berth to the Ivy League Tournament. With wins over Harvard, Brown and Yale, Cofrin led Columbia to its first Ivy League season with three wins to finish fourth in the conference standings at 3-3. Columbia also lead the nation in upset wins during the year and earned a program-record five selections to the All-Ivy League team.

Junior Lindsey Ewertsen became the first Columbia player to garner Ivy League Midfield of The Year and joined Victoria Kalamaras with first team honors. Senior Victoria Kalamaras capped a phenomenal career as Columbia's greatest passer of all-time by putting a regular season exclamation on two program assists records. Senior defender Kathryn Cavallo earned second-team honors, while first-year forward Alexandria Absey and senior goalkeeper Kelsey Gedin were honorable mention selections

Behind the highest scoring offense in program history (11.73 goals per game), Cofrin lead the Lions to a record-breaking 7-8 overall season in 2017. With the program's first ever win oer Dartmouth and a victory over Yale, Cofrin became the first coach to lead Columbia to a multiple Ivy League win season.

The Lions received four 2017 All-Ivy League selections, led by a first-team honor by senior Taylor Quinn who capped the year setting three Columbia records. Junior Victoria Kalamaras and sophomore Lindsey Ewertsen received second team honors, along with sophomore Laine Parsons garnering honorable mention.

Columbia capped its inaugural year under coach Cofrin in impressive fashion, with a 6-9 overall record in 2016, the most wins since the 2010 season. The Lions' high-powered offense performed at an all-time best clip, highlighted by having two players with 30+ goals and five with 20+ goals for the first time since 2007. The 51 assists on the year marked the highest season-total since 2011 (54) and the sixth-most in program history.
