Liza Jonasz
Recruit Profile
Strong defense-focused and passionate team player with high Lax IQ. Coachable, consistent, and dedicated, I am always looking to enhance my game. Multi-sport athlete (soccer, center-mid).
I started playing lacrosse when I was nine after a town coach saw me playing soccer and invited me to give it a try. I have played soccer since I was six. I love playing sports in general, and lacrosse is by far my favorite. I started on my JV lacrosse team as a freshman at Montclair HS, which is intensely competitive across the region in both women's lacrosse and soccer. In soccer, I started on the JV team this year (10th grade) at center-mid, and I was one of the core group of leaders on the team. I was brought up to play Varsity a few times early in the season, the last few regular season games, and throughout our run in the playoffs, where we were District, Regional, and Sectional Champions. I have a 4.286 (of 4.0) weighted GPA (all As thus far), take honors- or high honors-level classes, excel in science and math, and plan to take at least two AP classes each semester during 11th and 12th grade. I contribute and do well in my classes, and I like to learn and to challenge myself both in school and on the field. I am proud that coaches and teachers have consistently called out my attitude, effort, initiative, and sense of ownership in my own development and in the work I produce. With sports, academics, some volunteer work, and a solid and growing group of strong friends, I have a demanding schedule which I like because it requires me to be disciplined and to make active choices about where I allocate my time.
