Liza Oakley

Liza Oakley joined the Lynchburg women’s lacrosse staff as a graduate assistant coach in 2018-19.

Oakley is a 2018 graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmetsburg, Md., where she was a starting defender for the Mountaineers. In 2018, her senior year, she helped lead the third-best scoring defense in the NCAA. She also achieved Northeast Conference All-Academic Team honors each of her four seasons, earning her degree in business finance.

Oakley was also an intern with the Athletic Development Department at The Mount. In this role, she helped with alumni engagement, marketing, student relations, and helping conduct the operation side of sporting events.

In addition to her coaching duties, she will be matriculating through Lynchburg's master's in business administration program.

The West Hartford, Conn., native has also coached for Dodgers Lacrosse Club in her home state, where she helped the running of practices and supported various recruiting tournaments, and served as volunteer coach for Glastonbury (Conn.) Youth Lacrosse.
