Olivia Garman
Recruit Profile
Physical, strong and coachable multi-sport athlete and scholar; team player; committed to excellence in the classroom and on the field.
I have been playing lacrosse and soccer since I was in kindergarten. I have been playing club lacrosse for BBL for the last five years, and club soccer in seventh and eighth grade. I enjoy being an athlete because sports help me stay active and healthy, but more importantly, they have taught me how to deal with adversity, push through boundaries, support my teammates, and work through challenges as a unit. Playing center defense for my high school freshman soccer team was an exciting introduction to high school life and athletics. I loved the challenge, team unity, and camaraderie.
Academically, I am extremely interested in foreign languages, as well as international affairs and politics. I’m currently taking AP English Literature, AP World History, AP Spanish Language, AP Seminar, and Honors Precalculus. I’ve worked hard to maintain a 4.6 GPA and earn High Honors recognition for every marking period during my high school career. I received a 1440 on the PSAT and a 33 on the Pre-ACT my Sophomore year, and I received a 1410 on the SAT the summer before my Junior year.
The extra-curricular activities I’m most involved in are Model UN, Spanish Club, Key Club, and National Honors Society. I enjoy spending time with my family, as well as volunteering through my church, school, and community. One of my most rewarding experiences over the last two years has been working with students with special needs at a school near my home. It is a great opportunity for me to appreciate the point of view of others. I enjoy putting my wit, empathy, and willingness to listen to good use.
