Paige Apel, a Mount graduate and former Lions' lacrosse player, returns in 2017-2018 for her first season as head coach for the women’s lacrosse program.

In her first year as defensive coordinator and goalkeeper coach, Apel helped the team to a 9-7 overall mark, setting a team record for most wins in a season, including a 5-5 mark in conference play. Over her years as an assistant coach she has aided the program with recruiting, game strategies, film breakdown and planning practices.

Apel graduated Cum Laude from the Mount, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and an Associate degree in Paralegal Studies. She graduated from the Mount in December 2015, with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Apel is a member of the National College Athlete Honor Society, Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society, Lambda Epsilon Chi National Honor Society in Paralegal Studies; and was recognized for academics in 2012-2013 by the Ohio General Assembly House of Representatives.
