Paul Wehrum, a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, owns a career mark of 84-46 (.646) in eight seasons at Union.

Coach Wehrum owns the best winning percentage in program history and ranks second in career wins. He entered the 2014 campaign with the 28th-best winning percentage (.622) among active Division III coaches. Wehrum has led the Dutchmen to the NCAA Quarterfinals in two of the past three seasons and to three NCAA Tournament berths (2014, 2012, 2011). He has also posted the top-five winningest seasons (in terms of win totals) in the program's history and guided the Dutchmen to seven straight Liberty League Tournament berths. In 2014, Wehrum directed Union to a school-record 15 wins the most in the program's 73 varsity seasons. The team received an at-large berth in the NCAA Division III Championship, and recorded a first round victory over New England College and a second round triumph of Amherst. The Dutchmen won a school-record 10 straight games and reached the Liberty League Championship Game for the third time in four years. The "U" spent eight weeks in the national rankings, rising as high as seventh. The team finished ninth in the final USILA Poll, placing the Dutchmen in the top four percentile among the 205 Division III lacrosse teams in the country. Wehrum led Union to a perfect home record (9-0) and four wins over nationally-ranked teams. While at Union, Wehrum has produced 10 USILA All-Americans, 10 USILA Scholar All-Americans and had 10 players selected for the USILA North-South All-Star Game. He has also instructed three Liberty League Defensive Players of the Year and coached 52 All-Liberty League Team honorees (14-1st, 18-2nd, 20-HM). Wehrum's squads have also produced 85 Liberty League All-Academic Team members and earned 60 Liberty League Player of the Week selections.
