Peter Moore

Peter Moore joined the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics as a women's lacrosse graduate assistant in August 2017.

He was promoted to assistant coach in January 2019 and enters his second season with the program in 2018-19.

Moore was an integral part of the staff that helped guide the Titans to a 10-8 record, 4-1 mark in Southern Conference play and a share of the SoCon regular-season championship.

Moore, who worked closely with the Titan goalkeepers among other duties, helped mentor goalkeeper Allison McDonough, who was named the SoCon Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference in 2018. McDonough set career-highs in save percentage (44.3), ranking second in the SoCon in several GK categories.

The Titans swept the 2018 Southern Conference women's lacrosse postseason awards in Moore's first season on staff with Kaitlyn Wandelt receiving Offensive Player of the Year accolades, Meredith Moore earning Freshman of the Year laurels and head coach Laurie Merian named the Coach of the Year.

Detroit Mercy set 11 new team school records including in goals (255), assists (113), points (368), shots per game (32.4), shots on goal per game (24.3) and caused turnovers per game (9.8). The Titans were 21st in the NCAA in points per game (20.44) and 23rd in scoring offense (14.17) out of 115 Division I squads.

"Adding Peter to the coaching staff is going to help this program tremendously," head coach Megan Callahan said at the time of his promotion. "His knowledge of the game and tactics will bring a new spark to our style of play and push us in becoming a more threatening and dangerous team. The enthusiasm he brings every day is going to ensure we have fun while getting to that next level!"

Moore was previously the head men's and women's lacrosse coach in their first seasons as a sport at Clarke University, an NAIA school in Dubuque, Iowa.

He was the leader for both Clarke lacrosse teams from Jan. 2016 through May 2017, mentoring more than 40 student-athletes on campus as well as preparing practice and game plans for both squads, among other duties.

Moore was an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Indiana University men's club lacrosse team from Sept. 2013 to June 2015, writing and implementing practice plans as well as in-game strategies, while leading film sessions for both offense and defense.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication & Culture from Indiana University in May 2013.
