Recruit Profile
Creative multi-sport athlete. Leader on and off the field. Growth mindset. Thrives on competition. Coachable team player with agility and grit. Field and box experience. Outstanding student.

I started playing lacrosse as a way to connect with my culture. The longer I played, the more I fell in love with the game. My freshman year, I began rock climbing every week to help strengthen my wrists and forearms. Cross training with a sport like rock climbing has not only improved my draw; the mental nature of the sport has improved my focus as well as my problem solving and decision making under pressure.

I earned my junior officials certification and have been officiating youth games for the past two years. I also completed the US Lacrosse level one coach certification courses and last spring I started coaching elementary and middle school girls at recruiting clinics to help grow the game in Arizona.

The more committed to lacrosse I became, the more my interest in the biosciences grew. Three years ago I started 3D printing and building prosthetic hands for organizations like Project Mobility and eNable. These prosthetics are shipped to under-served communities all over the world. My work with prosthetics gave me the confidence to branch out during the COVID19 pandemic and I began building NIH approved face shields for the Navajo nation. I was humbled to receive the US Lacrosse Impact Athlete award for my efforts to help those in need.

Being involved in sports has helped me to grow both as an athlete and a person. I plan to continue developing as a student, teammate, and leader. I hope to earn a chance to play NCAA lacrosse at an academically challenging school. I plan to major in the biological sciences and then earn a doctoral degree in medicine (MD), nursing (DNP) or physical therapy (DPT). After completing my degrees, I hope to continue working with lacrosse athletes and doing my part to grow the game.

Desert Heat Lacrosse

Jun 13, 2020

Peyton is a solid utility player, you will find her all over the field. Her strengths lie in end of the game, she is extremely competitive and feisty. Her fitness and endurance never fall short, she dominates ground balls and is a force on the draw circle. ~Tyna Murphy
