A native of Farmington, Minn., Barnes took Clarke’s men's lacrosse reins in May 2019 after capping off a stellar collegiate career as a member of Missouri Valley College's lacrosse program.

Barnes, the 2017 NAIA National Player of the Year, was a three-time, first-team NAIA All-American and a two-time Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the Vikings. He served as team captain for Missouri Valley’s 2019 squad and was the recipient of a 2018 Student-Athlete Hall of Fame Scholarship.

Barnes has served as the head coach of the Frogs Lacrosse Club team in Prior Lake, Minn. since 2016 and has been a youth lacrosse official for the state of Minnesota since 2014.

Barnes was a two-time All-State lacrosse selection at St. Thomas Academy High School where he was a finalist for Mr. Minnesota Lacrosse.

Barnes has served as the skills and development coordinator at Saint Thomas Academy lacrosse summer camps since 2015.

Barnes received his bachelor of arts degree in business (sports management).
