The 2017 season will mark the first season under new head coach, Shannon Algeo.

She takes the reigns of the Griffin Women's Lacrosse Program after being an assistant at CSAC-foe Marywood the last two seasons where she helped lead the Pacers to consecutive playoff appearances.

Algeo graduated from Moravian College where she was a letterwinner for the Greyhound lacrosse team and a Landmark Conference Honor Roll member. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in economics. After finishing her bachelor’s degree, she went on to pursue her master’s degree in sport psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California. During her time in California, Algeo coached U15 lacrosse teams and summer travel teams. She did extensive personal lacrosse training with 6th through 11th graders. Algeo also started a high school program in Pleasant Hill, California where the program doubled in size after only one year. She also directed lacrosse camps throughout the bay area.

Algeo brings a variety of mental training experience to this Griffin program. She has worked on the mental side of sport with high school football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis teams. She has also worked with collegiate lacrosse teams and a dance team. She works on building teams’ mental toughness by increasing their confidence, motivation, focus, etc. which helps them reach their full potential on the field.
